From Darkness to Light – My Journey with Art

I am Karin Henningsen, born in Munich and grew up in a world marked by the uncertainty and shadows of a family of addicts. Even as a child, I found a refuge that helped me express my feelings and carry the heavy burden - painting. With every brushstroke, I found a little more of myself and an inkling that there was something greater slumbering within me.

But my path was anything but straightforward. For many years I was trapped myself - addicted to alcohol, drugs and medication. It was a battle that pushed me to my limits, but could never destroy my connection to art. It was always there, a silent companion that never gave up on me.

In 2002, after a long and difficult journey, I took the decisive step: I became drug-free. Since then, I have lived a life that I could never have imagined back then. Painting became not only my anchor, but also my tool to heal myself - and today I help others do the same for themselves.

I developed my own method, Intuitive Painting according to Henningsen , an approach that combines creativity and healing. This method offers a space to rediscover oneself, especially for highly sensitive women who often struggle with inner conflicts, self-doubt or emotional exhaustion.

Today I sell my paintings internationally, hold workshops and online webinars and share my story to encourage others. My life shows that it is possible to step out of the darkness into the light if you find your own path - and art was and is my path.
